June 2011
Scarborough Borough Council is celebrating its success after
scooping a prestigious British Destinations Award for www.discoveryorkshirecoast.com
The awards sponsored by Carrier Direct Marketing, part of the
Carrier Group were awarded during this years British Destinations
Annual Conference held in St Asaph, Denbighshire, North
Wales. Awards were presented by Jonathan Jones Director,
Tourism and Marketing Visit Wales, Wales Government and Bob Carter
the managing Director of the Carrier Group.
The judges comments were as follows:
The homepage of the site works well due to various factors, we like
the colour scheme used, the slideshow and quality of images
used. It is a very easy to use website, clear to understand
and contains enough content to find what a user would be looking
for from the home page. The footer links also work well and we like
the design that has been incorporated. Overall a very nice
clean home page.
June 2012
We followed up on our success of 2011 by coming third in the
British Resorts and Destination Association Website of the Year
Award category for 2012.
September 2012
Most recently, the DYC website was shortlisted and
came up runner-up in the UK TravelMole Web Awards of 2012. This was
the ninth year of the UK TravelMole Web Awards
and DiscoverYorkshireCoast.com was selected from a
record-setting number of entries in fourteen unique
categories.
