Scarborough entry at Tatton Park 2004 Awards - Tatton Park 2004

Scarborough Borough Council's Parks & Countryside Services scooped a prestigious Royal Horticultural Society Gold Medal at Tatton Park and also took the coveted award of Best Flowerbed at the Cheshire-based show.

Their winning entry of "Whitby's Floral Endeavour" fought off stiff competition from 25 other strong entries. The team's display wowed the crowds with their depiction of HM Bark Endeavour and three dimensional planted dolphins, all of which made their stand a frequent stopping point to many of the 100,000 visitors at the show.

The team will be entering the competition once again this year to defend their title with a display "Only a Heartbeat Away". This theme will depict the rich diversity of the North Yorkshire Moors and the contrast with the beautiful East Coast.
