Scarborough's North Bay Awards - Beach Awards

Both Scarborough's North Bay beach and Whitby's West Cliff beach have received Blue Flag awards in 2005.

Scarborough's North Bay beach, quiet and sandy, is a family beach and is backed by hills and cliffs, with the castle dominating the skyline, overlooking the beach. The Sealife Centre is two minutes walk to the north and five minutes walk from Peasholm Park.

Whitby's West Cliff beach is a sandy, rocky beach backed by cliffs and is a favourite family beach. Whitby was the home of Captain James Cook and has welcomed visitors to its sandy shores for hundreds of years.

The following beaches have all received the 2005 ENCAMS Seaside award:
